The Allure of Elements and Vulpine Designs 🦊

The idea of different elements in creatures (I blame Pokemon) has always captivated me. Elements just make sense. Combine with a creature? Chef kiss. So one day I put this beloved pond spirit together:

A lot had to happen to get here. It’s more than one medium. POSCA markers, watercolor, gel pen, colored pencil, and more. Put them in a pot, stir them together with a wooden spoon, and an aqua fox is born! 

This gave me the first neato idea: elemental foxes. Off to the trusty iPad!

But why have separate foxes for each element when I could have a fox with ALL of them?!

This magical beast reminds me of Ninetails found in Pokemon except with all the types mixed in. It’s enough to confuse an Eevee. I inked it and gave it over to Ryan to make the vector lines.

And then we created a dark and light color scheme:

This right here will make a pretty great pin. We have plans to try out a silky “pearl effect” for filling out the fox fur. The idea is to create a flow and swirling effect as you look at it. These foxes will be FABULOUS!

With more colors, larger size (a whopping 3 inches instead of 2 inches), and some coolio effects, these fox pins will be our first dive into the world of premium pins.

I can’t wait to get my grubby goblin hands on this treasure.
