šļøRelease the Squirmy doodles!

Hello everyone!
NYCC gifted me with the convention flu that had me barely functioning the last two weeks. Iām glad to finally be well enough to draw again and get into the swing of the spooky season!
With Halloween tomorrow, I put what energy I had into putting together some creepy crawlies to get into the spirit. Letās start it off with this Abyssal Serpent Centipede.
To keep things simple and flowing, a lot of these recent doodles are put together from a chaotic process of randomly scribbling on a page and drawing right on top. Itās a process where I intuit whatever shapes I can see just beyond the surface reaching out. Itās just like looking at the clouds and inking them down before they get away!
This lil guy gathers spines bristles from the thicket bushes, while eating their berries before anyone else can. What a scamp!

I really leaned into the abstract nature of the following piece. It reminds me of a melting eldritch eye. Itās easy to just get lost in the colors as they fade into each other. Itās a mix of the best textures and thatās why I love marker art!

This toothy weirdo fades between a magenta and a red. It makes me think of cephalopods that can change their colors in a heartbeat to match their surroundings. My red marker actually ran out while working on the piece and, well, I rolled with it. Happy accidents!

Lastly we have Mickey the Mixer. This guy puts together the best blends! Weāve been playing a bartending game, VA-11 Hall-A (a cyberpunk bartending visual novel). I just love the idea of walking into a dimly lit room and to have this guy serve you a drink. They keep it real.

We hope you have a wonderfully spooky, safe, and candy filled weekend! And if you need a quiet activity we have last yearās free Halloween coloring page available for you!
Until next time,
Arielle + Ryan
