Discovering Art & Animals in the Big Apple 🗽

Last week, we found ourselves in New York City for some time with family and some stolen moments exploring. Experiencing the people and energy there really filled up the inspiration tank. 

I’ve never been to the Bronx Zoo. San Diego Zoo was my point of reference as a child and believed nothing could live up to it. I’m glad I was wrong! The Bronx Zoo was AMAZING! With over 6000 animals we certainly didn’t finish seeing everything.

Say hello to some of friendly critters we met. Ryan really liked the Kookaburras and little penguins.

Quiet Rest

The next place we visited was the MET aka The Metropolitan Museum of Art. This iconic place was PACKED with both art and people! The Louvre came to mind as we wandered down vast hallways with their many ancient pieces. I was very excited to find works I had previously studied in art history. Many cultures and time periods are represented. Again we simply couldn’t see it all in the one day we set aside for this journey.

We have a lot to prepare for Origin’s Game fair in June. Much of the upcoming weeks will be spent redesigning displays and getting ready for the trip. I can’t wait to show you the work in progress!
