💀Art Adventure: Motivations of Attempted Murder
Hello, friends!
Today let’s take flight through the vale of time to when I first began incubating the ideas behind one of my favorite pieces: Attempted Murder.
I was nestled comfortably behind my table at Sinister Creature Con 2021 when a con-goer strolled by wearing the most caw-some shirt! Two crows sat together with the caption “Attempted Murder”. It tickled my funny bone. I’m a sucker for a good bird pun!
While roosting at my parent’s home for the holidays later in the year, I started sketching out thumbnails for my newest spooky piece. My original plan was to put together some silly idea around a frog wearing a wizard hat, when “Attempted Murder” fluttered to mind.

I inked my two favorite designs and began planning out the colors with the markers I had with me.

After inking, I put together the moody dark colors of the crows with the bright yellows and orange that would make up the lighting.

The cool part is that all the design process and final piece were on the same page!

But our tale doesn’t end there!
This piece glided by as a small print until we decided to move away from 5x7 art pieces as they were often confused with greeting cards. But it’s my favorite piece, so instead it’s been resurrected as a 3-inch hard enamel pin!

With the option of a second color scheme, we put together a white albino corvid version called “Ivory Pair”. This design is a delightful nod to my albino kenku from a past Dungeons and Dragons Campaign affectionately known as Thwak. Aptly named after the sound made when he would deliver a healing blow to his companions!

These 3-inch statement pins have now landed in the shop, ready to find a cozy nest in your collection! Grab yours today, and they’ll flutter on over before Halloween! Just in time to add a spooky charm to your festivities!
Thank you for soaring through this art adventure with us!
Have a spooky week!
