🖍Creative Recess: Playing With Patterns!

Hello everyone! Today I’m sharing something fun. A coloring book on patterns! It’s way cooler than it sounds!

Okay, so, confession time. I don’t usually care much about coloring books. But this one by Coco Wyo caught my eye. Why? Because it’s not just a coloring book. It’s a class of mixed media in alcohol markers and acrylic markers to create out-of-this-world effects!

The book breaks down each pattern step by step with space for intentional practice. I had to  take these techniques for a spin in my actual artwork! 

I want to wrap myself in this! 

I took a quick sketch I did with some friends and gave the rock a glowy, magical texture.

And this one? A skull made of liquid daydreams. Surreal and unexpected.

The patterns in this book nudge me out of my comfort zone, into something looser and more experimental. I can’t wait to see where else these textures wander into my work.
