✨Finding Creatures in Scribbles - Sketchbook Tour!
It’s been a minute since I’ve shared my sketchbook with you, and I’m so excited to catch you up on what I’ve been up to creatively. Last year was all about the designing of enamel pins - which I loved every minute of it. But as I looked back, I realized something…I haven’t been making many illustrations. How come? Well, we had put together a process that was too rigid. Perhaps a little too focused on outcomes. I missed the joy of just creating without worrying about where the work is going. I needed my process to loosen up a bit. So, to kick the year off, I decided to shake things up. I started playing with intuitive drawing - a process where you start with a scribble, let your imagination take over, and see what comes of it. It’s been so freeing and oh so much fun! Here’s a peek at the process of creating these intuitive drawings. |

Every drawing feels like an adventure. You never know what’s going to appear in those scribbles or how it’s going to turn out. Sometimes, the results are abstract and wild. |

Other times, they seem to tell story. |

I filled my toned sketchbook with these intuitive drawings last month, and I wanted to share my favorites with you. |

But I didn’t stop there. I wanted to see if I could take the process to the next level, so for the last page in my sketchbook, I went big - a full page illustration. Meet the Sky Dragon! |

This piece came together faster than I expected, and it was such a blast to discover a dragon hidden in the clouds. It’s got me thinking…What if I tried this with marker? Or on an even larger scale? Who knows. Maybe this will be my new go-to way of creating illustrations. Thank you for letting me share this little creative journey with you. It’s been such a joy to reconnect with the playfull and exploratory side of art. I’m excited to see where it takes me next. Until next time, Arielle + Ryan P.S - A huge thank you to everyone who’s already followed along on “The Celestial Dragonarium”. Due to time constraints, we’ve pushed the launch date to March 18th. If you haven’t already, you can sign up to be notified when it goes live here! Oh, and as a little thank you to our early supporters, anyone supporting the project within the first 48 hours will receive a free Star Dragon pin! Because you’re amazing, and we want you to have something shiny to show for it. |
